What Is The Difference Between Urethane Dumbbells And Rubber Hex Dumbbells?

Lifting free weights can have a number of health benefits on your muscles, bones, mental health and can even reduce body fat. If you've been considering some dumbbells for your gym, then you’ve probably been scratching your head at the choice between Urethane dumbbells and rubber hex dumbbells. These are both quality dumbbells but to help you make the best choice for you, we’ll tell you all you need to know about both.

Urethane Dumbbells

Urethane dumbbells are of unbeatable quality and will last much longer than rubber hex dumbbells. They’re abrasion, UV and impact resistant. Urethane dumbbells are also unscented so there’ll be no lingering smells in your gym if you do choose these.

If you're the owner of a commercial gym then you should be picking urethane dumbbells. Not just because they’ll be getting constant use but because you can engrave gym logos onto urethane much easier than other types of rubber.

Rubber Hex Dumbbells

Rubber hex dumbbells are still a quality option despite not being able to match the durability of urethane dumbbells. They’re also a cheaper option. If you're starting a home gym and not going to be competing in a world weightlifting tournament anytime soon then you should choose these quality dumbbells.

What Else?

Once you’ve got your dumbbells you'll need a convenient way to keep them secured and safe. The best way to do this is to buy a dumbbell rack. We have dumbbell racks with different dimensions to fit small and large commercial gyms and home gyms.

What Is The Difference Between Ellipticals That Have Bearings Versus Wheels?

What Is The Difference Between Ellipticals That Have Bearings Versus Wheels?

Ellipticals are quality exercise machines designed to improve your fitness. You can get these cardiovascular machines in many different sizes and designs. Within the myriad of ellipticals for sale, you'll find some with bearings and some with wheels. You can find quality ellipticals with wheels and with bearings, but in most situations, one of these types is better. Do you know which one? You're about to find out…

Ellipticals With Wheels

We don’t deny that an elliptical manufactured with wheels can be a quality product, but in most situations, they come in second to ellipticals made with bearings. Ellipticals with wheels were designed first and are a relatively simpler design. The user simply begins the motion with their legs which will then rotate the wheel towards the back of the elliptical.

These ellipticals are not always quiet and older wheels can certainly break the white noise barrier. They also don’t last as long and can be much harder to maintain compared to ellipticals with bearings. An example of an elliptical with wheels is a Precor elliptical. For the reasons mentioned, we don’t stock these models.

Ellipticals With Bearings

Ellipticals with bearings are usually better for home and commercial use. These ellipticals position bearings towards the front of the machine, which are then connected to the foot section. Most people find that bearings offer a smoother feel throughout the full range of motion.

Ellipticals made with bearings also make significantly less noise so you can exercise without disturbing the neighbors or the family Netflix binge. Exceptional examples of these types of ellipticals are the family of Matrix ellipticals. These exercise machines opt for bearings and unrivaled suspension perfect for those with bad knees and ankles.

What To Look For In A Good Treadmill?

What To Look For In A Good Treadmill?

If you’re already here then we don’t need to tell you about all the physical and mental benefits of running on a treadmill. However, if you're planning to buy a quality treadmill there are things to look out for. We can give you some astute information on what to seek out in a quality treadmill. Let’s help you make the right decision!

Performance Features

Treadmills are advanced pieces of equipment that can simulate different running conditions. The best treadmills will offer a number of pre-set programmes that challenge your ability to run certain distances in specific timeframes. This is as well as the ability to tailor-make your own running plans. The better treadmills will also allow you to track your performance and maybe even download your statistics to external storage.

Entertainment Features

Running can be tough and mentally draining – with every step requires the difficult decision to take another. To make things easier without reducing your results, some treadmills offer entertainment features. Watching a video or listening to music can be a great way to take your mind off running and even motivate you to keep on going.

Joint-Friendly Manufacturing

Many of us start to get niggles and joint pain as we get older. Treadmills are known for causing multiple impacts at your joints which put a lot of people off running and even stop people going to the gym. If you’re developing your home gym to your personal needs, or if you’re a gym owner and want to stand out in the market, you should consider a treadmill that reduces impact to joints while running.

Check Out Our Treadmills!

We have an array of excellent treadmills for sale to suit the needs and preferences of professional runners and those preparing for their first five-kilometer jog. If you’re planning an at-home gym or own a commercial club, get in touch and let’s discuss our treadmills!

What Is The Best Way To Lose Belly Fat?

One of the biggest reasons many of us start exercising is to lose some inches around our waist. Whether this is just because you want to feel better about yourself, look amazing on your wedding day or are a professional weight lifter preparing for your cutting stage, you'll need to know the best ways to lose belly fat. There are some unbeatable ab workout machines and ab accessories to help you fit into those smaller pants and we’re here to tell you about them.

Adjustable Abdominal Bench

An adjustable abdominal bench is the staple of our ab workout routines. For new gym-goers these are benches that you lie on to do abdominal crunches. These are better than simply using a mat because they hold your legs so only your core is engaged. They also offer a way to progress your abdominal workout and achieve better results. You can adjust the angle of the bench to increase intensity or grab a weighted plate to add resistance.

Core Roller

Another fantastic way to lose belly fat is by using a core roller. These pieces of ab equipment are a single wheel with ergonomic handles on either side. You can use the wheel to stretch out your core by doing roll-out repetitions, rolling planks and other fat-fighting exercises.

Ab Machine

Another tried-and-tested method to help remove your love handles is by using an ab machine. These are plate-loaded machines which you sit in and extend your hips forwards to resist the weight. You then return to your starting position with the same tempo, which will engage your back muscles giving you an all-round core workout.

Our Full Abdominal Range

This is just a taster of the ab accessories and ab machines that can help you fight way your belly fat. We also stock plentiful other machinery and accessories that have been proven to significantly reduce belly fat. What Is The Best Treadmill For Bad Knees?

What Is The Best Treadmill For Bad Knees?

Sometimes our intentions to exercise are there, but ongoing niggles and medical issues prevent us from turning that motivation into sweat, increased strength and weight loss. This is especially the case for people with knee problems. People with bad knees can be put off using a treadmill because using a treadmill causes minor impacts to your joints. These recurring impacts can be painful for those with ongoing knee issues and may even make your knees worse. So, is there an alternative?

Landice Treadmills

There is an alternative - Landice treadmills are the answer. These are a specific type of treadmill that are used in physical rehabilitation centers and specifically designed for people with troublesome knees. They have been part of the furniture in specialized rehabilitation centers for a long time due to their track record at reducing impact on our joints. Landice treadmills have a lot of impressive features and researchers at Harvard University even found them to improve performance – but what about running comfort for bad-knee sufferers?

Running on a Landice treadmill is like running on a surface five-times softer than grass. You don’t get as heavy impacts upon each contact of the treadmill belt. Yet, what really makes these treadmills safer for those with knee problems is that they use VRX shock-absorption technology. This innovative design only allows the belt of the treadmill to move vertically as you jog on it. Other treadmills allow a degree of sideways movement which can cause a sliding movement at the joints and incite ongoing injuries and pains.

Where To Get One?

We stock L7 Series Landice Treadmills and L8 Series Landice Treadmills perfect for home gyms and commercial venues. Not only do they reduce impact, they also include an array of performance controls and are as quiet as a mouse. Take a look at their features, overcome your limitations and enjoy running again, today!

What Is The Best Barbell To Use At Home?

360 Guest of 360 Fitness Superstore, Bay Area's Best Fitness Gym Equipment - Monday, November 05, 2018
What Is The Best Barbell To Use At Home?

Barbells are a key ingredient in a lot of weight lifting activities. Smaller barbells are perfect for isolating upper body muscle groups such as biceps and triceps while longer barbells are great for compound movements such as squats and deadlifts. To help you decide what training barbell you need, we’ve got the lowdown on the different types right here.

Upper Body Barbells

Some barbells are better to target muscles located above your waist. You may want to get a standard barbell and complete reverse curls to make your wrists and forearms stronger, or you may use them to complete bicep curls. Some people find the straight bar uncomfortable on their wrists and prefer a specifically designed curl bar which angles your wrists to avoid discomfort. You can even get a specific barbell for triceps exercises or a combination barbell that has been designed to help with bicep curls, triceps exercises and shoulder exercises.

Full-Body And Lower Body Barbells

When squatting and deadlifting you'll need a longer bar. This is because our legs tend to be a lot stronger than the smaller muscle groups in our upper body. You can find these longer bars with different grips, weights, lengths and materials. Some are more durable than others and some are made to help with technique. The best barbell for your home gym will depend on your skill and experience level. Always do your research and look for one that you feel comfortable and confident with.

Want More Than One Barbell?

If you have the space, you may want to buy more than one barbell to tackle different types of exercises and muscles. In these cases, you’re going to need a way to keep your barbells and weighted plates secured and safe. Check out our storage racks to add those all-important finishing touches to your gym.
